“Winning choice” is defined as: The “winning choice” for a given game is considered the team with the highest score after the end of the bowl game. For each correct selection, you will receive a certain number of correct selection points (CPP). The correct selection points for each match are not final and change until the start of the respective game. The sum of the CPP of the two participating teams in each bowl game is 100. For example: Florida State Virginia Tech plays in the Gator Bowl. The CPP for a Florida State winning pick is 36 and the CPP for a Virginia Tech winning pick is 64. If you choose Florida State and win it, your registration will earn 36 points. If Virginia Tech wins and you selected Florida State, you will receive 0 points. 8. GAME INSTRUCTIONS: After registration, participants can participate in the game. The goal of the College Bowl Pick `em is to correctly select the winning pick for each game of the 2000-2001 College Bowls during the points accumulation period. 14. LIST OF WINNERS: This Contest is subject to these Official Rules.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which shall be final on all matters relating to this Contest. REGISTRATION: You can attend anytime from December 6, 2001 to January 2, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. PT. To earn points, register and enter your selection no later than the first kick-off of the last Rose Bowl period. To maximize your scoring chances, register before the first bowl of the game on December 25, 2001 (Las Vegas Bowl). You must be a registered member of espn.go.com to participate. Registration is free. Members can participate by registering in one of the following ways: a) Existing espn.go.com Members must log in to the system with their current username and password. No further information will be requested. MINOR POLICY: Participants under the age of 18 must first obtain permission from a parent or guardian before they can participate online.
Minors can only participate after becoming a registered member and providing the email address of their parent or guardian. EIV informs parents or guardians when their child has become a registered member of espn.go.com. 9. SCORING: Participants will receive the CPP (Correct Pick Points) awarded for each correctly selected “Pick Winner”, as defined above. You will not receive points for a non-winning selection as defined above. Entrants must comply with all applicable restrictions related to the Contest in which they participate, as described in Section 4. In particular, they must ensure that their tips are submitted within the deadlines of each match. All selections submitted after the deadline will be considered invalid and will not receive any points. For prize purposes, scores are collected over the entire points accumulation period. A maximum of one (1) entry per person or email address. If there are more than (1) entries per person or email address, only the first entry will be accepted.
All materials become the property of EIV and will not be returned. After participating, participants can access their team to track performance. These members will be asked to provide their name, address, day and night phone numbers, email address, gender and birthday, and select a username. Espn.go.com will then send these members a password to the email address provided, after which these members can log in with their username and password. All entrants have the right (but not the obligation) to submit their expected score for Rose Bowl games as indicated as such in the area of selection. This prediction is only used for general tie-breaker purposes. If no predicted score is submitted for a post, a default prediction of 0 to 0 points is displayed. It is possible for a standard prediction to win a tiebreaker. 12. GENERAL INDEMNIFICATION: By participating in College Bowl Pick`em, you release EIV, ESPN, Inc., the Participating Sponsors and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, successors, directors, officers, employees and agencies (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) from any and all claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest or acceptance.

The Indemnified Parties assume no responsibility and shall not be liable for any errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft or destruction, unauthorized access or alteration of entries. No responsibility will be accepted for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or mutilated transfers. None of the Released Parties shall be liable in any way for problems or technical malfunctions of telephone networks or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of e-mail or entries received by EIV due to technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or on any website. or any combination thereof, including injury or damage to the entrant`s or any other person`s computer, related to or resulting from participation in or downloading materials from this Contest. The Released Parties reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to disqualify any person who violates these legal restrictions herein or commits conduct that adversely affects EIV, the Contest or any other entrant (in each case, in EIV`s sole discretion) or disqualify any person whose eligibility is in question.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY ANY PERSON TO INTENTIONALLY DAMAGE A WEBSITE OR INTERFERE WITH THE LEGAL OPERATION OF THE GAME IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW, AND IF SUCH AN ATTEMPT IS MADE, EIV RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO EIV TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 15. HEADERS. The section headings contained herein are for convenience only and may not be used to modify or interpret the terms of these Official Rules. 11. NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified by email and postal mail within thirty (30) days of the date the winners were selected and must sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and acceptance of such legal restrictions and a publication/liability release (unless prohibited by law) within fourteen (14) days of the attempted notification. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, online entries will be declared by the authorized account holder of the email address provided during registration. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person to whom an email address is assigned by an Internet Service Provider, Online Service Provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the specified email address.
