Fairly Legal is an American comedy-drama television series that aired on the USA Network from January 20, 2011 to June 15, 2012. It stars Sarah Shahi, Michael Trucco, Virginia Williams, Baron Vaughn and Ryan Johnson.[1] USA Network cancelled the show on November 1, 2012 after two seasons due to low ratings. [3] Kate Reed firmly believes that justice can always be found – even if it doesn`t always happen in the courtroom. Once a lawyer at the prestigious San Francisco family law firm, Kate`s frustration with the legal system led her to a new career as a mediator. With her innate understanding of human nature, deep legal knowledge and wry humor, Kate comes naturally when it comes to resolving disputes. Except, it seems, when it comes to conflicts in their own lives. Dismisses the action; The U.S. has canceled the legal comedy-drama Fairly Legal after two seasons, Deadline reports. The cancellation comes a day after the U.S. also killed the co-op cop comedy Common Law.

Pretty Legal, which premiered in January 2011, starred Sarah Shahi (Life) as a successful mediator you have to work for. Writing for Entertainment Weekly, Darren Franich noted the similarity of Pretty Legal`s formula to other hit USA Network series and described the series as “perfectly prefabricated American fun.” He praised Shahi`s performance as Kate, saying it “makes you believe that the woman is both a scary wreck and a brilliant facilitator,” and applauded some of the “interesting opportunities” the creators have seized. She also explained that her history divides her at times and binds her at other times. “At the end of the day, they would give the shirt on their back to help the other person because they are part of the family.” [6] Pretty Legal first appeared on USA Network`s development list in August 2009 under the working title Facing Kate. The series was created and written by Michael Sardo, who is also an executive producer.[9] [1] Casting announcements began in late October, when Sarah Shahi was cast in the lead role of Kate Reed. Michael Trucco and Virginia Williams joined the cast in early November.[10] [11] [12] Pretty Legal stars Sarah Shahi as Kate Reed, a young woman who switches from lawyer to mediator and works at the San Francisco law firm founded by her father. At the beginning of the series, Kate`s father has just died, leaving his young widow Lauren at the helm, while Kate and the company get used to the loss. The title song “The Yellow Brick Road Song” is sung by poet and musician Iyeoka Okoawo. It was co-written by producer David Franz and is the first single from their album Say Yes. [7] In September, the total number of episodes was reduced from twelve to ten due to scheduling problems. Michael Trucco has joined the ABC drama pilot Killer Women, alongside former Battlestar Galactica co-star Tricia Helfer, a-t-TVGuide.com confirmed. A former lawyer works as a mediator to solve other people`s problems while trying to solve her own problems. Pretty Legal drew 3.9 million viewers when it first aired, with about a third of viewers in the older age group of 18 to 49. The episode lost about 500,000 viewers thanks to its introduction, the mid-season debut of the medical drama Royal Pains.

On May 2, 2011, the United States announced that Fairly Legal had been renewed for a second and final season of 13 episodes, which premiered on March 16 and ended on June 15, 2012.[55] [16] [29] Production for the season began on October 28, 2011. The season introduced a new series regular, Ryan Johnson as Ben Grogan.[30] [30] Mark Moses appeared in one episode as a powerful lawyer. Barry Shabaka Henley appeared in the second episode as an agent “who is not afraid to play hard”.[31] [32] Meat Loaf appeared in the ninth episode as Charlie DeKay, a union leader who threatens to strike in San Francisco. On May 2, 2011, USA Network announced that Fairly Legal had been renewed for a 13-episode second season, which then went into production in 2011.[33] On January 4, 2012, it was announced that the second season of Fairly Legal would air on March 16, 2012. The series has been moved to Friday at 9:00 p.m., paired with In Plain Sight. [17] Political Animals will not return for a second season, TVGuide.com confirmed. The six-part series, starring Sigourney Weaver and Carla Gugino, was originally conceived as a miniseries, but producer Greg Berlanti and some of the show`s stars have hinted that it could be included for a second season if the first broadcast attracts enough viewers. The show premiered in front of 3.8 million viewers in total and a modest average of 3.2 million viewers over the six weeks of broadcast.
